Cheo Ming Shen (Co-Founder, Nuffnang )

Cheo Ming ShenCheo Ming Shen is the Co-Founder of Nuffnang.com. He and partner, Timothy, set up what is now Asia Pacific’s largest blog advertising community, representing 100,000 bloggers regionally, with offices in 5 cities. Priding himself as a serial entrepreneur, his other ventures include a Twitter advertising network, ChurpChurp.com, and an Interactive Design Agency, Ripplewerkz Pte Ltd. He was nominated as one of Businessweek Asia’s Top 25 Young Entrepreneurs in 2007.

Timothy Tiah (Co-Founder, Nuffnang )

Timothy TiahTimothy Tiah is the Co-Founder of Nuffnang.com. His business accomplishments mirror those of his partner, Ming. Besides also being nominated as one of Businessweek Asia’s Top 25 young entrepreneurs in 2007, he was recently awarded the JCI Creative Young Entrepreneur Award. Timothy is also one of Malaysia’s top bloggers having cultivated his passion for it more than 5 years ago.

Martyn Thomas (Managing Director, FRANkVizeum)

Martyn ThomasMartyn Thomas is the Managing Director of FRANkVizeum, a Melbourne-based communications company with a philosophy founded in challenging the status quo and a Director of Nuffnang Australia. His passion for helping clients manage their social business strategies to create brand-advocate communities puts him on the front foot in helping brands to navigate the shift from monologue to dialogue.

Yen Gunadi (ASEAN Brand Manager, Pringles)

Yen Gunadi is the Brand Manager for P&G, one of the biggest consumer products company globally. His role is to develop marketing strategy and plans to attract more consumers to grow P&G brands here in Asia. He has had experiences in various Marketing assignments in Asia headquarters such as Japan and Singapore. Currently he is managing P&G global Snacks brand called Pringles in the ASEAN region.

Chang Chee Pey (Director, Singapore Tourism Board)

Chang Chee Pey As Director, Brand Management, Chang Chee Pey is responsible for Singapore Tourism Board’s (STB) brand strategy and campaigns, and developing strong and positive brand perceptions worldwide.Chee Pey brings with him a wealth of regional experience in the tourism industry, having held various roles within the STB throughout his 12 years with the Board.

Julie Chiang (Director, Asia PR Werkz)

Julie Chiang Julie Chiang is one of the founding consultants of Asia PR Werkz and she has developed a broad-based communications practice which includes consumer and lifestyle PR, technology PR, events management, promotions and publicity. Her passion for consumer and marketing communications and outstanding experience makes her one of the most well recognized professionals in her field.

Debbie Cai (Copy Editor, Dow Jones Newswires)

Debbie Cai Currently a Copy Editor at Dow Jones Newswires since 2008, Debbie Cai has five years of experience under her belt in the editorial profession. She works among some of the best editors and journalists in the business, while indulging herself in the dynamism of a global financial and political news environment. She began her journalistic career as a reporter with regional business publication Marketing, seeing the magazine through from a fledging local start-up to a regional leader with titles in a number of Asian markets. She moved up the ranks and served as Editor, helming both the Singapore print edition and online interpretation of the magazine. 

Lionel Chin (Co-Founder, Ripplewerkz)

Lionel Chin Lionel Chin is the co-founder of Ripplewerkz, which is an all in one design house which offers high quality Web, Blog, Print and Corporate ID development. Boasting an impressive portfolio of projects such as Xiaxue.blogspot.com, Airtrade and The Eurasian Association (Singapore) etc, the name Lionel Chin certainly resonates in the digital industry.

Benjamin Lee (Veteran Blogger)

Benjamin LeeCommonly known as “Mr Miyagi”, Benjamin Lee is a veteran in the blogging industry where he has often been asked to provide quotes in articles pertaining to the blogging scene. Additionally, he is a scriptwriter and a freelance writer for Men’s Health, as well as occasional pieces for the local newspaper, The Straits Times.

Judging Process

The panel of judges have scored the nominees on the following criteria:

  1. Presentation (10%) - Overall appeal, neatness, user-friendliness of the blog
  2. Content (20%) - Readability, images and expression of the content
  3. Relevance to Category (20%) - Professionalism and usefulness of information

The average score of all the judges is used to compute the final scores of nominees. Judges with conflict of interests with certain nominees have sat out of the judging process.

Every judging process has at least two witnesses present to make sure that the process is as fair and impartial as possible.

The voting will contribute to 50% of the final scores, to decide the Blog Awards winners.
